Matthew Teglas, P.G.

Matt Teglas, P.G., currently manages QE2’s Field Services Group, overseeing the activities of staff environmental scientists and technicians.  Matt is an expert in site assessment; groundwater and soil sampling; groundwater and soil remediation design and implementation; and, regulatory compliance regulated by state agencies such as TDEC, and the US EPA.  Matt’s expertise includes the design and remediation of soil contamination issues, and complete familiarity with disposal options and associated permitting.  Matt’s experience includes numerous subsurface site investigations, Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, Brownfield and VOAP project management, NEPA assistance, groundwater and soil remediation designs, UST removal, UST compliance inspections, the preparation and implementation of Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plans, SPCC training, and construction oversight.

Additionally Matt has provided services for various landfill projects ranging from hydrogeological investigations for permits, leachate system design and installation oversight to monitoring and groundwater quality assessments.  The projects were located in various geologic settings including known karst areas.  These services have included groundwater use survey, field reconnaissance, geologic mapping, monitoring well installation and sampling, dye-tracing studies, groundwater basin identification and flow evaluation, plus statistical analysis of analytical data. Matt is the Project Manager of the Department of Energy (DOE) and Department of Defense (DOD) sites in Tennessee.  DOE and DOD projects have included fuel center demolition and UST removal, petroleum hydrocarbon groundwater investigation, RCRA permitting, DNAPL groundwater remediation design and monitoring, landfill maintenance, and NPDES permitting.

Matt volunteers his time on the Board of Directors for a local non-profit Americana radio station WDVX.. When not kayaking, hiking around Ijams Nature Center with his two young daughters and wife, pickin’ tunes on the porch with his neighbors, and creating culinary delights for his family, he also volunteers time with Beaumont Magnet Academy PTA and grounds beautification crew.
